Master Choi's Biography

Head Instructor · Kukkiwon Certified Black Belt
At UTO Taekwondo, our mission is to help students become confident, respectful, and responsible individuals through the practice of Taekwondo. Every class is designed to develop not only martial arts skills, but also the character and values that support success throughout life.
Learning doesn't end with earning a belt. We encourage students to keep growing, to lead with humility, and to use what they have learned to positively influence those around them.
Above all, we strive to create a welcoming environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
“Learning as a student is not the end. My goal is to develop true leaders — students who will one day teach others what they have learned.”

How Master Choi Teaches
Teaching Philosophy
For Master Choi, Taekwondo is about more than developing strong techniques. Every class is an opportunity to help students build confidence, strengthen character, and become respectful leaders who positively influence the people around them.
Student Becomes Teacher
True learning comes full circle when students have the opportunity to encourage and teach others. Leadership grows naturally as experienced students guide younger classmates with patience and respect.
Character Before Technique
Taekwondo is about more than physical skill. We believe confidence, respect, perseverance, and integrity are the qualities that have the greatest impact long after class has ended.
Individual Progress, Not Competition
Every journey is different. Students are encouraged to set personal goals, celebrate steady progress, and support one another rather than compete against each other.
